Suncity Group Donates MOP300,000 to Show Continuous Support for Macau Holy House of Mercy’s Welfare Shop
Actively providing aids to different charitable organizations in Macao, Suncity Group continues to offer support to the Welfare Shop of Macau Holy House of Mercy with a donation of MOP 300,000 to assist families with financial hardship.
On September 1, volunteers of Suncity Group gathered at the Welfare Shop to distribute food hampers to more than 360 disadvantaged families, in which containing staple items like rice, noodles, biscuits, canned food, cooking oil, shower gel, and others. Alvin Chau, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Suncity Group, Philip Wong, Chief Financial Officer, Gina Lei, Senior Vice President of Corporate and Community Relations, and Maggie Lei, Senior Vice President of Administration and Human Resources, presented a cheque for MOP300,000 to António José de Freita, President of Macau Holy House of Mercy President, José Ricardo das Neves, President of the Supervisory Committee and Manuel Gonçalves Pires Júnior, member of the Board of Trustees. Gisela Nunes, Secretary General of Macau Holy House of Mercy, Isabel Marreiros, Principal of Day-care Centre, Terry Lee, Director of Home for the Elderly, and Leong Sut Mui, Director of the Rehabilitation Centre for the Blind were also in attendance.
Several thousand households from disadvantaged neighborhoods have received food and essentials through the Welfare Shop’s monthly distribution since its launch in 2013 to help provide relief against the rising cost of living. Suncity Group has been contributing a total of MOP1.5 million, and actively encourages staff to participate in different community services, thereby providing more benefits to needy persons and repaying the society.
